Hana's Suitcase

We will discuss the book Hana’s Suitcase and learn how Japanese children solved the mystery of Hana Brady, whose name was painted on an old battered suitcase from Auschwitz.


Copies of Hana’s Suitcase will be available at the Youth Services desk.

For ages 8-12.

Sadako and the 1,000 Cranes

PROGRAM DATE: Thursday, January 7, 4:00pm


Sadako Sasaki was a Japanese girl living in Hiroshima when the atomic bomb was dropped. She became ill and, while in the hosptial, she began folding paper cranes. We will learn why the cranes were important to Sadako then and how they are still important for our world today.

Give to another person without expecting something in return!  Join children around the world as we celebrate kindness through stories, songs, and crafts.

Support Loudoun County's Community Holiday Coalition through an act of kindness. Bring a pair of mittens or gloves (child or adult size) to our program! This act of kindness will help someone in need.
